What you will do

Starting February 18th at 5PM, join Fergal O'Byrne at his home for a 4-week writing workshop in English. Fergal has won awards for his work across print, stage, and screen, and this workshop is the opportunity to learn from someone with real success in the field. Fergal's most recent collection of short stories Thank the DJs: A Collection of Short Stories was released in September 2024.

In this workshop, Fergal will guide you (with max 4 other participants) through the process of writing a short story. By the end of the four weeks, you will have your own finished short story: it will be ready to share with a publisher, enter into a competition, or keep for yourself, it's up to you to decide what you'll do with it. Fergal will be an expert and mentor to help you work through your ideas, develop your narrative, and maybe most importantly, gain the confidence to put your work out into the real world.

This workshop is for those who are serious about improving their writing, whether you’re working on your first ever short story or improving something you’ve already started. Fergal will help you do the work and gain the confidence to take the next steps.

Structure:

February 18th, February 25th, March 4th, March 11th. 5pm-7pm.
